A – 2 Fireplace Mantel Legs
B – 1 Fireplace Mantel Header

Step 1: Fireplace Mantel Leg Installation
**For a perfect installation of your new Historic Brands fireplace mantel, follow these step-by-step instructions.**
1. Determine and mark the desired position for the legs’ height.
2. Cut the bottom of each leg to the required height using a small angle grinder with a concrete blade (**like the one pictured**).
3. Ensure the legs are level. Use shims to level the mantel legs if necessary.

Step 2: Install the Fireplace Mantel Header
1. Determine and mark the desired position for the header.
2. Cut the header to the exact length required to fit snugly between the two legs.
3. Apply adhesive to the back surface of the header and the inside top of each leg.
4. Use bracing to secure the header tightly to the wall until the adhesive sets.

Step 3: Finishing Touches
1. Use the provided cement to fill any gaps around the mantel.
**Note:** The provided cement dries quickly, within 20 minutes. Make sure to mix only a small amount at a time and add water promptly for application.
Historic Mantels are factory treated with a clear water-based sealer and do not require additional surface treatment

Step 4: Cleaning
Clean mantel with a damp cloth as needed. Do Not wet the mantel. Water marks may appear if the cloth is wet.
